What you’ll do
As an Application Engineering Intern focusing specifically on color engineering, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience in the consumer electronics industry by supporting engineering projects focused on color and surface properties
- Run lab-based color program engineering projects, contributing to product development and quality assurance
- Operate specialized lab equipment to measure color, gloss, and surface roughness, and prepare data for engineering analysis
- Perform studies and analyze experimental data to support engineering decisions and product improvements
- Collaborate closely with Color Lab Technicians to prepare samples and data presentations for customer-facing teams
- Develop foundational knowledge in materials science and application engineering through real-world lab work and cross-functional collaboration
What makes you a good fit
- An undergraduate student graduating in 2027, 2028 or 2029 pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology or Materials Science
- Hands-on lab experience gained through academic coursework or prior internships
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to quickly learn and safely operate various lab equipment, including CNC machines, spectrophotometers, and glossmeters
- Strong interest in color science, adhesives, and the consumer electronics industry
- Comfortable working in a collaborative lab environment as part of a large, cross-functional team

- This internship is eligible for a housing stipend or relocation support.
- Henkel’s Summer 2026 internship program starts on May 27th, 2026, and runs through mid-August.
- Recruitment for our 2026 internships starts in late August 2025 and runs through early March 2026 or until all our positions are filled.
