About this Position
As a Senior Data Engineer on Henkel's Customer Intelligence team, you will drive the engineering implementation, scaling, and operational excellence of our global Customer Data Platform (CDP). Working in close alignment with our Solution Architect, your mission is to bring our architectural blueprints to life by delivering expert data modeling, high-performance data pipelines, and robust engineering standards. We are looking for a seasoned professional who thrives on solving intricate data engineering challenges, prioritizes long-term product vision over basic task completion, and enjoys mentoring team members while translating technical paradigms into clear business outcomes.What you´ll do
- Pipeline Development (30%): Build, scale, and optimize enterprise-grade, high-throughput ingestion pipelines from complex internal and external sources using Kafka streaming, Delta Sharing, custom APIs, and Service Connectors.
- Data Reshaping & Modeling (30%): Own the physical implementation, refinement, and expansion of our Data Vault customer and contact models within Databricks. Map data lineage and support our transition toward a decentralized Data Mesh philosophy.
- Activation & Insights (15%): Engineer optimized Gold/Business layer views to feed executive dashboards and deploy high-performance streaming/API pipelines to push activation-ready data seamlessly into the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP).
- Orchestration & DevOps (10%): Set engineering standards for pipeline orchestration using Databricks Workflows and Delta Live Tables (DLT). Manage and mature our Git workflows, branching strategies, and automated CI/CD DevOps deployment pipelines.
- Quality & Governance (15%): Lead the implementation of advanced data quality framework testing, automate validation rules, establish comprehensive documentation, and collaborate directly with architects on solution designs.
What makes you a good fit
- Extensive, hands-on engineering experience with Databricks, PySpark, and advanced SQL
optimization. - Deep understanding and practical experience implementing complex data modeling frameworks.
- Proven experience with real-time streaming architectures (Kafka, DLT) and API-driven data
integration. - Advanced proficiency with Git workflows, code repositories, and production-grade CI/CD pipelines in
a DevOps environment. - Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data systems and technical
designs into clear, non-technical language for business stakeholders. - Experience integrating data workflows directly with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) is a plus.
- Practical exposure to implementing decentralized Data Mesh paradigms and data lineage tracking is a plus.
- Deep understanding of Data Vault is a plus.
